Uluwatu, what a dreamy place.. The bluest of blue water on white sand. We stayed at Sal Secret Spot which has the main hotel at the top of the hill to Bingin Beach and then 4 beachside bungalows which we stayed at. You’ll have one of the beautiful staff walk you down some questionable stairs to the most incredible view of the beach and the sweetest little place to stay.

There are a few places nearby I would certainly try for dinner and drinks and a few yoga places nearby too. One thing to note if you do stay here in Uluwatu make sure you have cash on you as the nearest ATM is 10 mins scooter away right near Pedang Pedang Beach. Pedang Pedang was super touristy beach but worth a look, you have to pay 40k to head down .

Accomodation

Stay around Bingin Beach. It’s a little more quiet and peaceful but close to everything as needed.

Mule Malu

Surrounded by white beaches and world class surf breaks, Mule Malu is a peaceful oasis on the Bingin farmlands, within walking distance to Bingin beach and a short drive to the famous beaches of Dreamland, Padang Padang and Uluwatu. A central location for surfers as well as a perfect base to explore the beauty of the bukit peninsula.

Food

Go on treat yourself. Try the bbq prawns.

Baked was awesome for brekkie or a little stop for a croissant or yummy pastry before a day out exploring or on the beach. Really good coffee too!

My absolutely fave Indonesian food on the whole island. Choose your rice base, then pick your protien and sides to make up the most beautiful nasi campour plate. This place is cheap and clean and highly reccomend. See below!

Indonesian food, clean , cheap and delicioius.

Absoloutly delish! 55k breakfast specials aka $5.50 AUD. like the chilli eggs below

Yummy healthy salad bowls, fish tacos, burrito bowls, mango vodka slushys and live music on a Thursday night. Def worth checkin out make a booking for Thursday nights (bookings only at 7pm).

Honestly head to any of the bbq places for fresh seafood at sunset. Get there early to snag a front row seat to watch the sunset. Make sure you get there kinda early to get your pick of the fresh seafood. The local warungs set up tables and chairs on the sand and you go up and order whatever seafood you like they weigh it and charge by the weight. They BBQ it for you and serve it up with rice and greens. It was $75 Aud for 4 people and a great experience.

This place has an epic mango smoothy, good breaky and lunch options and the cutest golden retriever that hangs out here.

We decided to ask a couple who were also checking out the same time as us if they were headed to Seminyak to and graves a lift. Verity and Ryan (from Darwin) wanted to stop at V’s local favorite Budda Soul. The food here was so delicious! Def a great spot for breaky and lunch. Pancakes are aparently A+.

Mexican on a cliff, enough said.

To do

My Fave place in this area to really treat yourself. If you want a different vibe than the cheaper more local massage places check this place out. But also book ahead to make sure they can fit you in.

Popular Surfers hang (a bit ott cool guys for my taste) but an awesome spot for sunsets and a beer. They have live music Wednesday and Sundays.
